Artist's Comments

Olimar is finally finished and my pikmin army is growing! I would like to make a helmet for Olimar, but I don't really know what to use, so suggestions would be appreciated. As with all of my sculptures, they are made out of polymer clay with staple wire used as support.

Botany note time! I think that the horseshoe-shaped plant in the background is scurvy grass, which tastes like pepper and was chewed by sailors for its vitamin C content. Don't eat anything out of your garden without consulting a professional, of course. In any case, it's very cute and grows low to the ground, forming a carpet in the crevices of our stepping-stones is quite charming.

Why are you making Olimar breathe the deadly oxygen!? You're gonna kill him!

j/k nice job

I don't know what to use for his helmet. If you could give me some suggestions for what to make it out of, I would appreciate it. It has to be about 1" in diameter.

You could use wire, glass, tinfoil, and clay, but I think the glass part would be rough. You could probably do it without the wire, but it would only be 2 dimensional.

Kudos, your artwork is awesome. This will be my new desktop bg.

Olimar looks amazing! Might I suggest something though? Have you ever heard of Sculpty Glaze? You put it over clay figures to give it a wonderful shine. And the colors come out a lot more. I got my sister some for her birthday and all her figures look awesome. All yours are so cute but if you just take a paint brush and glaze them they will look even better. Ask for Olimars helmet there might be clear sculpty clay, I've seen it. Even the figures have like a large rubber dome around them thought the head is like implanted in a whole circle of rubber :XD: You don't want Olimar breathing oxygen though. Oh, I'll shut up after this. I love the wrinkles you put in his suit gives it more texture and I like that.

Why, thank you! That's quite flattering.
